( from festival's site ) - 5, 6, 7 and 8 July 2012 - Cairns is situated in the north of Queensland, Australia. The tropical climate, makes it a great tourist destination, especially in July. July is in the middle of our winter and the dry season, and the days are generally warm with blue skies, and nights very cool. The locals consider this the best time of the year to be here!

( from festival's site ) - Festival is in Italy, close to Venice and Verona, in the wonderful location of a original palladian villa, 4 days of workshop, concerts, jamming together, open mic and ukulele exhibition. James Hill will give a 3 days workshop (prebooking required, only 20 appliants), open mic shows (only on prebooking, 10 foreigners and 10 italians) will be inscribed in a fabolous vaudeville and burlesque show, miniworkshops at every time, and exhibition of ukuleles for sale will be hosted from the makers themselves. the owners of kala, ohana, anuenue, leolani, lanikai, risa, eko will attend the show, and kanile'a, kamaka, mainland are still to be confirmed. big raffle with dozens of high quality ukes to giveaway!

( from festival's site ) - Ukulele University, ( Uke U.) July 20,21,22, 2012 at the Runway Ranch, Bend Oregon, the beautiful and private home of the High and Dry Bluegrass Festival. Planned activities include workshops, jams and play-alongs, open mics, performances, and the opportunity to spend the weekend with good people from the ukulele community. Runway Ranch is 20 minutes East of downtown Bend. Facilities include clean irrigated unimproved campsites, RV parking (no hook-ups) and port-a-potties. This first year we are looking for volunteers as instructors and performers.
