from the South Street Ukulele Club web site
Hang out and play the ukulele with fellow enthusiasts in a brand new, ukecentric shop on the legendary South Street. This is a great way to make new friends, learn the uke and create music in a fun, relaxed environment. Feel free to invite your percussion loving friends and do not hesitate to sing! We will collectively decide on themed nights, whether it be decade, genre, etc and uke on til the break of dawn (not really, but at least into the evening)!
from the Steel City Ukuleles web site
If lovin’ uke is wrong, I don’t want to be right! Steel City Ukuleles was founded in June, 2011. We meet 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 pm each month. We have a range of ages, tastes and abilities which adds interest and variety. Our “text” is The Daily Ukulele: 365 Songs, but we often use on-line music. We play 20s-30s uke tunes, Hawaiian, blues, Beatles and contemporary. A member volunteers to lead/moderate each session and sends out a play list a week in advance. Sessions start with warm-ups and easy tunes, followed by tunes we want to work on. After announcements at the break, we play song circle and jam style. All levels, beginners or advanced, are welcome to come and play.
Content is always being added and updated. So check-in often. Thanks, for visiting!!!
