Mike Oria is a gigging jazz guitarist(7-string) in the SF bay area.  And primarily plays as a duo with vocalist, Stephanie Miller.

Mike Oria hit the road to jazz in the 7th grade playing the bari sax, an instrument that was almost as tall as he was. He eventually settled on tenor sax and clarinet before discovering the guitar. He began performing in pop cover bands during the 80's, and became a veteran of the thriving Austin, Texas music scene with original rock trio, Thru the Tulips. As a member of The University of Texas Jazz Ensemble, Mike studied with guitarist Scott Sherwood.

Mike was born in Manchester and first became involved with music at age 5 playing the violin. At 14 he started playing the guitar and initially took lessons from classical guitarist Martin Roberts and guitarist Pete Bocking. After school he studied at Leigh College Music Centre with Steve Willingham, Steve Berry, Gary Boyle and Mike Walker. He also gained experience playing with many groups on the Manchester music scene.

(from artist's site) - Trefor Owen, who has a unique approach to improvisation, is one of the foremost Jazz guitar teachers in the UK  He has over twenty years' experience teaching at the highest level both in Britain and the USA.  For eight of those years he was an Associate Lecturer at Leeds College of Music and for twenty four years was visiting lecturer at Liverpool Community College.  In 2006, for the third consecutive year, he toured California, appearing in San Francisco and at John Pisano’s Guitar Night at Spazios, Sherman Oaks, L. A and in May 2007 he performed in the Jazz Bar at the American Classic Guitar Show, and at the prestigious Jazz Cafe, Smithsonian Institution, Washington DC.  For seven years, Trefor has led a team of international guitarists tutoring and performing at the North Wales International Jazz Guitar Festival and Summer School in Wrexham, the biggest jazz guitar event in the world, where his teaching has won annual applause.  Trefor Owen has considerable experience in tutoring clinics and workshops.  Also, he has conducted celebrity workshops at Cork International Jazz Festival, London's Guitar Institute, the Zinc Bar, New York, New York Guitar Show, Long Island, the Chet Atkins Convention in Nashville, Jazzmasters Workshops, Carmel, USA and Frigolet, France.
